2012: Year of the Albany Corruption Trials?

It seemed that we had just risen from our seats at the corruption trial of Assemblyman William Boyland, Jr. when we got the news that former New York State Senate Majority Leader Joseph Bruno will be re-tried by federal prosecutors after his attempt to have his corruption conviction overturned was denied by the Second Circuit Court of Appeals.

This means that trials of New York State legislators will be filling New York newspapers for the foreseeable future: both State Senator Carl Kruger and former State Senator Pedro Espada, Jr. will be facing federal prosecutors in the coming months as well. And, we expect that the Legislative Ethics Commission will soon be processing the Notice of Reasonable Cause issued last May against Assemblyman Boyland.

Don't forget local corruption: http://www.timesunion.com/local/article/Father-son-Waterford-employees-allegedly-stole-2274862.php

I think local and state are related.
