Making Legislators Pay for Missed Votes

Here's an item from last month on the National Conference of State Legislature's blog: the Arizona House is considering a bill that would dock legislators' paychecks if they miss important votes, like those on passage of legislation, without being excused. Rep. Jerry Weiers' bill sets the price of a skipped vote at one day's pay.

An interesting stick to go along with the carrot of legislative pay raises a little closer to home?
